    • HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. It is a systematic, science-based approach used in food production to identify, evaluate, and control potential hazards that may pose a risk to food safety. HACCP is a preventive system rather than an end-product testing approach. The primary goal is to prevent, eliminate, or reduce hazards to acceptable levels in order to ensure the production of safe and wholesome food.

Below are a number of reasons why HACCP is important:

      1. Preventive Approach: HACCP focuses on preventing hazards rather than relying solely on end-product testing, making it more effective in ensuring food safety.
      2. Risk Reduction: By identifying and controlling critical points in the production process, the risk of foodborne illnesses and contamination is significantly reduced.
      3. Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Many countries and regulatory bodies require the implementation of HACCP as a part of food safety regulations.
      4. Consumer Confidence: HACCP helps build trust and confidence among consumers by ensuring that food products are produced under controlled and safe conditions.
      5. International Trade: HACCP is recognized internationally, and adherence to its principles facilitates the global trade of food products by meeting international food safety standards.
